Mark, thanks for the inspiration with your Turkey flights. I am starting out on an journey of my own. I am gonna fly around the world. No particular route planned but I do intend on hitting some great sites in Europe. I flew out to Nome,AK to start my trip, from there I will be flying over into Russia. Any suggestions on what to see while I'm in the area let me know. Here are a couple of shots from the first flight.

Anchorage to Nome is the route taken by the Iditarod dogsled race, isn't it? If you wanted to stay with a theme, you could keep going with other great journeys, like the trans-siberian railroad, the Orient Express, or routes taken by famous explorers or something. Sounds fun!

Sounds like a great idea cause really I have no plan on where to go or see next but I plan on taking my Beaver all over the world and see everything we can think of.

On my way to Vladivostok, Where the trans siberian railway starts or ends depending on which way you are going. But due to fuel limits and things like that I had to fly in to Anadyr first then I'll puddle jump down to Petropavlavsk and one more stop after that I'll be at the begining or the end of the Trans Siberian Railway. I have four words for the bigging of this journey.... It's cold out here!!!

Thanks again for the inspiration to take on such an endless flight

An irresistable urge for sushi came over me while I was in Vladivostok, Russia so I fueled up and took a relatively short flight over to Tokyo. I passed by Mt. Fugi on my way in.


And with a pretty unadventfull flight crossing the Japan Sea, the only other cool thing on the flight was the landing.

Good luck with the trip! The Beaver must look kind of out-of-place in Tokyo, but something with floats sure makes sense for over-water flying.
